I took about a month off of blogging….Here’s why.
1. Newtown, CT.Â
My last blog post (before Jan. 1) was posted at midnight of December 14. Later that morning we all know what happened in the elementary school in CT. And I felt like there was nothing appropriate for me to say. Nothing that I should or could be written to describe the tragedy that had taken place on that day. I felt like there was nothing to say because I wasn’t going to jump on anyone’s bandwagon or political agenda. I had to leave it alone, because if it was my child, mother, sister or friend that had been killed that day I would have wanted the talking heads to drop it. So I tried to not be a talking head.
2. Christmas happened.
Even though my blogging schedule is nothing like it was before, I decided that I would take a good Christmas break to give myself some time off.
3. You can refer to Baby O as Baby Klingon.
I can’t do anything without this kid completely freaking out. NOTHING. For example, showers are a nightmare, I dread them in the morning. I get in the shower, she flips out, then crawls around the house screaming for me, literally crawls around the house crying & screaming until she can’t breathe while looking for me. She eventually makes her way back to the shower & she stands up next to the shower door & beats her hands on the door until I get out. It’s awful. And this is routine over everything, be it doing a load of dishes, trying to pick up toys, start a load of laundry or get dressed in the morning. If I’m not holding her, she is not happy. It is wearing me out!
4. If you don’t have anything nice to say, then you shouldn’t say anything at all, right?
That’s the rule I’ve been trying to apply. I’m working on changing my focus from ME, ME, ME & why 2012 was hard for ME & MY family, to “What can I do for others? How can I apply that little thing Jesus called the Golden Rule into my life?”
5. I am working on a new project!!!
And I don’t want to share any more than that until the official launch. It has a lot of potential to be really awesome & I want to do it right!
6. Twitter is more fun.Â
Pretty self-explanatory. If you want to find me, you can pretty much bet I’m tweeting! 🙂
Ever take a blogging break?Â

Amen Kate! I couldn’t agree with you more. I am going to be starting a blog shortly (I just bought the domain name) and I want it to be creative but also be about things I discuss on Facebook and Twitter. As you know I tend to be very opinionated! HA! Even I with no children had nothing to say after the Newton tragedy. I mean what could anyone say? It left me speechless for once!
I can’t wait to continue to read your blog and following you on Twitter!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Thanks, it will be a month before I get it up and going. I am just so far behind on things. I can’t wait to see what your little project is too!

Hi, Kate!
Remember the Klingon Baby is a phase…I remember it being pretty painful at times…but it will pass. Hang in there!
And can’t wait to see what your new project is! 🙂
Happy New Year! Hope you have a fantastic 2013!

Thank you Mandy! I’m trying! It’s so overwhelming! I have no idea how you did it with twins–BRAVO! And you are amazing for doing it! I had totally forgotten what it was like since Lboy is older & whew, it’s exhausting!

My little one is a total clinger too. It’s cute, but it does make getting things done a bit tricky.
I’m curious about your new venture! Can’t wait to hear more about it!

Lol tricky is an understatement! My house is totally bombed–B.O.M.B.E.D. I have company coming up this weekend, so I have to get it all done!
I’m excited about the new site–I hope people love it as much as I do!

I so understand — all those things sabotaged my blogging as well — except the Klingon baby, but older kids can interfere pretty much during the holidays too. I just decided to cruise. Can’t wait to find out about your new project!

Thanks Cynthia! (For some reason my comment notification did not email me your comment or I would have gotten back to you sooner!)
I’m trying to just cruise as well…and in the grand scheme of things, the baby is more important than blogging. I’ve learned that lesson the hard way several time!
